European Wonca Conference 20091
On the occasion of the annual conference of Wonca Europe2 (the European section of Wonca World3, the World Organization of Family Doctors), more than 2000 primary care practitioners, researchers and teachers from all over Europe and beyond will come together for a scientific and friendly meeting in Basel.
The annual conference of the Swiss Society of General Medicine SSMG/SGAM4 2009 will take place at the same time as the Wonca Conference.
Organizing parties
The Basel Wonca Conference 2009 is organized by
• the Swiss Society of General Medicine SSMG/SGAM4, Wonca member
• the five medical faculties of the universities of Basel, Berne, Geneva, Lausanne and Zurich5
• further parties interested in patronizing this event or participating in the Advisory Board
Aims
The Basel Wonca Conference 2009 aims to
• promote primary care education, research and practice in Switzerland and Europe
• favour the development of institutes for primary care medicine in each medical faculty
• raise research activities in primary care medicine to international standards and integrate them in daily practice activities
• consolidate education in primary care medicine
• promote a primary care medicine that is attractive to future generations of doctors
