The countdown for Eurohand 2008 has begun. We are pleased to present
the final programme.
The sheer number of abstracts submitted for papers, workshops, posters
and focus sessions has been amazing. The permanent scientific committee
has reviewed the abstracts at length. An interesting and exciting scientific
programme awaits you at Eurohand 2008.
The keynote speaker, Lynne Feehan, PT, MSc, PhD from Canada will kick
off the scientific programme with a presentation about the treatment of
fractures. Of special interest is the joint session for surgeons and therapists,
which will focus on the topic of “Hand stiffness”.
This congress provides a fantastic opportunity to update your knowledge
by attending the main sessions that focus on the topics of fractures and
trauma, CRPS, tendons, nerve injuries and assessment as well as free papers.
Focus sessions and workshops have been organized and will take place concurrently
with the main sessions to round out this educational experience. Focus
sessions feature one or more speakers that concentrate on a specific topic
presented in a theoretical manner, with the possibility for in depth discussion.
The twelve workshops offer you the opportunity to do some hands on learning
in a cosy environment. Places in the workshops are limited so please be
sure to indicate your workshop preference when registering for the congress.
We hope you will relax and enjoy the social programme, as well as renew
acquaintances and make new connections with fellow professionals. The
welcome reception offers some Swiss cultural highlights, such as melodious
alp horn music! The gala dinner promises to be a night to remember beginning
with a cruise to Montreux on Lake Geneva, a relaxing dinner at the Casino
and concluding with a concert and dancing.
We feel sure you will enjoy the lakeside city of Lausanne with its beautiful
view of the Swiss Mountains. The sports fans among you will be pleased
to know that Lausanne offers close proximity to the matches taking place
simultaneously at the European Football Cup.
We certainly hope you will join us. We look forward to welcoming you
to Lausanne, Switzerland and Eurohand 2008.
