Dear colleagues and friends,

It is a great pleasure to invite you to Pontresina / St. Moritz — the world-famous Swiss mountain resort — to take part in the 15th Conference of the European Society for Clinical Hemorheology and Microcirculation (ESCHM).

We aim high. You will visit one of the most beautiful mountain areas, the Engadin valley with its lakes and surrounding snow-covered mountains. The conference will last from Monday to Wednesday. Plenary lectures by Sandro Forconi, Shu Chien, Tommaso Gori, Herb Meiselman, Gerard Nash, the Fahraeus award lecture, and a special lecture on high altitude physiology by Peter Bärtsch from the University of Heidelberg will be accompanied by symposia, oral presentations and poster sessions covering the whole field of Hemorheology and Microcirculation. There will be plenty of time for inspiring discussions and networking. The social program is especially attractive with a dinner at a famous restaurant overlooking the Engadin valley on Monday as well as the conference dinner on Diavolezza reached by cable car on Tuesday evening, where you will admire a world of glaciers and mountain peaks. Accompanying persons may go for shopping in St. Moritz, or take the Bernina Express train (UNESCO world heritage) to Tirano in Italy, etc. It might be a good idea to plan on spending a few more days and make your trip to Switzerland your summer vacation.

I hope to see you all in Switzerland
